PITTSBURGH, May 28, 2024 – Vitro, North America's largest glass producer headquartered in Monterrey, Mexico, joined the Pittsburgh Steelers in Western Pennsylvania to officially kick off their recently announced partnership. Vitro is the first partner of the Steelers in Mexico as part of the NFL Global Markets Program.
To commemorate this historic partnership between two champion organizations, Vitro and the Steelers did their take on the traditional NFL jersey swap. Vitro CEO Adrian Sada received a customized Steelers jersey, and in turn, he presented Steelers Vice President of Sales & Marketing, Ryan Huzjak, with a crystal Vince Lombardi Trophy.
While Monterrey and Pittsburgh are over 1,800 miles apart, the two organizations are much closer, sharing a storied history and commitment to versatility, perseverance and innovation. Vitro’s roots run deep in Western Pennsylvania, where Vitro Architectural Glass (formerly PPG Glass) was founded in Pittsburgh in 1883.
Vitro has revolutionized glass manufacturing, creating low embodied carbon and energy-efficient products that continually raise the industry standard for sustainability. Vitro’s world-renowned glass research and development center is also headquartered in Pittsburgh, a testament to its rich history in Western Pennsylvania.
In addition to visiting the Steelers headquarters at the UPMC Rooney Sports Complex, Sada and Vitro executives visited Acrisure Stadium, which features Solarban® 60 solar control, low-e glass by Vitro. With a solar heat gain coefficient (SHGC) of 0.39 and a visible light transmittance (VLT) of 70%, Solarban® 60 glass enables significant heating and cooling cost savings while allowing ample daylighting.
With nearly eight million fans in Mexico, the Steelers have the second largest fanbase in Mexico among all NFL teams.
