CCR and Populous Architecture designed a three-story curtain wall with Solarban® 72 Acuity® glass from Vitro Architectural. With the abundant natural light now entering the open lobby, it's hard to recognize the original building designed by George W. Qualls.

“The curtain wall system was used because we wanted to create a dramatic, open, light-filled lobby with views of downtown,” explains Jim Swords, principal at Populous.
Vitro's Solarban® 72 Acuity® Solarban® glass offered the crisp, color-neutral aesthetic desired by the architects, along with the necessary solar control.

“Since the glazing is predominantly south-facing, we were concerned about heat gain. The glass allows views while controlling solar heat gain in the lobby,” he explained.

Solarban® 72 triple-coated silvered glass over Acuity® low-iron glass provides 67% visible light transmission while protecting 72% of solar heat gain.
